Strawberry - Grape Chantilly Mold Recipe


Recipe Ingredients

1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin
2 c. boiling water
1 c. ice cubes
1 1/2 c. fresh strawberries, washed & stemmed
GRAPE LAYER:
1-1 1/2 c. green seedless grapes
1 tbsp. (1 env.) unflavored gelatin
1/3 c. cold water
1 c. sour cream
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Grated peel of 1 lemon
1 tbsp. sugar
Green leaf lettuce & grape clusters for garnish



Cooking Directions

1. Mix and stir strawberry gelatin into boiling water until dissolved.
2. Add ice cubes. Stir occasionally until melted.
3. Refrigerate until syrupy.
4. Gently stir strawberries into gelatin. Spoon into tall 6 cup mold. Refrigerate until nearly set.
5. Start grape layer by dissolving unflavored gelatin in 1/3 cup water in pyrex measuring cup.
6. Put cup in pan of boiling water to melt gelatin.
7. Combine sour cream, lemon juice, lemon peel, sugar, grapes and melted gelatin. Stir well to thoroughly blend.
8. Spoon into mold over strawberry layer. Chill at least 2 hours, unmold on a plate with lettuce and grapes for garnish.
