Philadelphia Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
Recipe Ingredients
3 qts. half & half
3 c. sugar
3 vanilla beans or 3 tsp. vanilla extract
Cooking Directions
Combine 1 quart half & half, sugar, split vanilla beans, and put in double boiler. Cook until cream is scalded (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and scrape pulp and seeds from vanilla beans; discard pods (if using extract, add now). Cool. Add remaining cream and chill before freezing according to your ice cream maker's directions.
