Fruit Cake Christmas Cookies Recipe


Recipe Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
3 tsp. sour milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brandy (or juice)
1 lb. candied glazed pineapple, chopped
1/2 lb. candied red cherries, chopped
1/2 lb. candied green cherries, chopped
1 lb. white raisins
1 lb. pecans, chopped



Cooking Directions

Take out 1/2 cup flour and dredge fruit and nuts. Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and soda. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add milk, brandy and vanilla. Mix well and pour over fruit and nuts. Mix well and chill. Drop by teaspoonful on well greased baking sheets.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, until light golden. Cool for a few minutes. Remove from baking sheets. Store in airtight container.
