Philadelphia Walnut Sticky Buns Recipe
Recipe Ingredients
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
3 eggs, room temp.
5 1/2 - 6 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
6 tbsp. soften butter
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. maple syrup
Cooking Directions
Scald milk, stir in sugar, salt and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, eggs and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth. Keep adding flour to make stiff dough; knead 9 minutes. Grease large bowl and put dough in rolling around to grease dough. Cover; let rise. Sprinkle walnuts in 3 ungreased 8" square pans. Combine softened butter, brown sugar and maple syrup in saucepan; cook over medium-low heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over walnuts. Punch dough, divide in 3. Roll to 9"x7" rectangle. Spread dough with 2 tablespoons soft butter; sprinkle with brown sugar. Roll from wide side; seal edges. Cut in 1" slices. Place cut side up in pans; cover; let rise for 45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Invert immediately onto serving dish.
