Grape Nut Bread Recipe
Recipe Ingredients
1 c. (heaping) Grape Nuts
2 c. sour or buttermilk
1 tbsp. shortening (butter)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. raisins
Cooking Directions
Pour milk over Grape Nuts and let stand 10 minutes. Add the sifted dry ingredients, egg, butter and raisins. Blend, pour into greased loaf pan, let rise 20 minutes, bake 45 minutes at 325 degrees.
